I am thankful

Sometimes it is hard to find things to be thankful for, and yet I find that those are some of the most important times to look. I find that if I start with the smallest things, it leads to bigger things, and soon I have an actual list. I am thankful that I can have a good cup of coffee at home; that the Japanese Maple is the reddest I have ever seen it; that I actually have a plan for dinner tonight; that I get to watch the many birds that come to our feeder; that my Buddha garden continues to be a calming, peaceful place; that there are lots of people who love me; that I can still walk;  that, though things are tough right now, they do look to get better; that I am alive.
