Learn the lessons of the past

Be careful when you start looking at the past. It can be deceptively easy to remember only the good, or only the bad. Remembering only one part of the past can make the past seem like it was better or worse than it was. Also remember that what was good for you might have been bad for someone else, and vice versa. It is good to look at the past, and learn the lessons it has to teach, but learn the lessons from the whole past, not just the part that is easy for you to remember. And once you have figured out what those lessons are, don’t forget to move on, because your living is done in the present.
