Schedule your self-care
Holiday hint: Schedule time for self-care this holiday season so that you don’t forget to do it. Block out a chunk of time for just you – get a massage, read a book – do whatever floats your boat and recharges your battery. And also create a list of things you can do in varying amount of time for when you find yourself with odd spare moments between things. Sometimes the hardest thing about self-care is figuring out what to do in the short amount of time you have. By the time you can figure it out, your time is up and you have to move on to the next thing. It is often easier if you can consult a list and not have to think too hard. Remember that there is no right or wrong to self-care: find things that help you to relax. For some people, that could be gardening or sitting in silence for 10 minutes; for others it might mean doing the dishes. Do what works for you. Self-care is one thing you should take personally.
