Think about what you are gaining
When you are trying to make a change, don’t think about what you have to give up, but rather what you are going to gain by making that change. It doesn’t matter what the change is: quitting smoking, losing weight, starting an exercise or meditation program, or anything else. Change doesn’t come easy, no matter what you are trying to change. Keep your eyes on the prize, as they say. Think about how nice it will be when you reach your goal. Thinking about what you are giving up might actually make it more difficult to achieve that goal.
